Weekly Reflections 10 (12th June 2024)
THIRD WEEKLY PRESENTATION (TEAM 6,7,8 AND 9)
Week
13; This
week we continue our weekly topic presentation. This week 4 topics been
covered, which are Leading Self-Managed Team, Transformational Leadership,
Level 5 Leadership and Authentic Leadership.
First presentation of Leading Self-Managed Team presented by Krishnakumar A/L Supramaniam and Raakendra A/P Sivasubramaniam. Basically, in this Lead Self-Managed Team leadership style leader is act as facilitator to the team members. As a leader, we empower our team members to make their own decision and also manage their work autonomously. This way of leadership style is flexible and emphasis also on the leader-team members relationship.

Then,
the presentation continued with topic Trasformational Leadership that presented
by Muhammad ‘Izuddin Sukiat. In this leadership style, as a leader we need to
be able to change, to improve and to empower our team members letter to be the
future leader. The leader able to emphasis the team member to lead themselves
in certain or specific situations. This transformation leadership style was
introduced by James Macgregor Burns.

Third presentation was by
Navina A/P D Selvarajoo with the topic of Level 5 Leadership. She started her
presentation with sharing of an input from Jim Collin’s book with the title
Good to Great. Jim Collin highlighted that the critical part for an
organisation success is ability to combine the aspect of humanity and fierce
resolve. Basically, this Level 5 Leadership emphasised in 5 things, which are:
1. Highly
capable individual.
2. Contributing
team member.
3. Competent
manager.
4. Effective leader.
5. Execution.

Last presentation for this week is by me
with the topic of Authentic Leadership. This authentic leadership drive from 3
perspectives, which are:
1. Intrapersonal: Leadership based on self-concept and how self-concept relates to actions (Shamir & Eliam,2005).
2. Interpersonal: Leadership is created by leaders and followers together (Eagly, 2005).
3. Developmental: Leadership can be nurtured, and developed over lifetime. (Avolio &Gardner, 2005).

After
all presentations done, Prof. Yusof concluded today’s presentation and he asked
about class’s opinion. I shared my experienced dealing with my team at
IndeBrain and it so impactful when we can get more ideas and suggestions from
other class members and Prof himself. Alhamdulillah.
